North Carolina
Law Enforcement Accreditation Network

About us
The North Carolina Law Enforcement Accreditation Network is a non-profit organization representing the accreditation interests of North Carolina law enforcement agencies, communication agencies, and training academies. We focus on providing a collaborative resource for North Carolina agencies involved in accreditation programs.
NCLEAN was formed in 1989 through the combined efforts of several law enforcement agencies in North Carolina that were nationally accredited or in the process of becoming accredited through CALEA. These departments met and agreed on the need for a state network to assist one another in the accreditation process.
NCLEAN recognizes and supports the concept of accreditation for law enforcement agencies as a means to enhance the quality of law enforcement services.
What does NCLEAN do?
-
We support accreditation for all law enforcement agencies in North Carolina.
-
We offer training in standards compliance and a network of accreditation managers to provide resources and support to agencies seeking accreditation.
-
We provide community through regular (quarterly meetings) and an annual conference to facilitate information sharing between member agencies.
