Capitalizing on Non-Sworn Positions in Law Enforcement

Lisa G. Long is an Investigative Assistant in the Homicide Unit at the City of Fayetteville Police Department in Fayetteville, NC. Aside from this role, she is also a criminal justice and sociology adjunct professor at Greenville University (Greenvile, IL) and Methodist University (Fayetteville, NC). Lisa earned her PhD in criminal justice with a concentration in behavioral science from Nova Southeastern University. Her master’s degree is in Justice Administration from Methodist University. She also has a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Sociology and Print Journalism from the University of Kentucky. She is also a certified general instructor. Lisa is very active in the officer safety and wellness activities and initiatives at the Fayetteville Police Department Lisa previously worked as the Accreditation and Grant manager and a criminal intelligence analyst for the Fayetteville (NC) Police Department. She is the President of the Fayetteville Police Benevolent Fund. She is also an active member of the Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run fundraising at the department.
She is a board member and vice chair of the Phoenix Center (formerly Rape Crisis Volunteers of Cumberland County). She served as a board member and secretary for the Greater Fayetteville United non-profit organization. She is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society and the Alpha Phi Sigma National Criminal Justice Honor Society. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys working out and enjoying various outdoor activities. She also enjoys listening to all types of music and spending time with family.
