Susan has served as a Criminal Justice Instructor/Developer with the North Carolina Department
of Justice for the North Carolina Justice Academy for 13 years. She is responsible for creating
curricula for the certification and continuing education for the state of North Carolina. Susan is
the North Carolina Department of Justice School Director for the North Carolina Sheriffs’
Education and Training Standards Telecommunicator Certification.

Susan instructs in various training curricula across North Carolina, including NC Sheriffs’
Standards Telecommunicator Training, NC Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards
General Instructor Course, and teaches or co-teaches various courses regarding Critical Incident
Stress Management, Weathering the Storm, and is a certified instructor for Stress First Aid.
